COMtrac presented our Digital Investigation and Brief Management Solution at the first instalment of Microsoft’s Government Solution Seminar Series for 2022. The series delves into the unique challenges that the regulatory sector is facing and how they can be addressed with innovative solutions that are available today.
The virtual event, held on the 24th of March 2022, discussed how implementing an Investigation and Brief Management solution dramatically reduces timeframes and streamlines criminal and administrative justice proceedings.
COMtrac’s Founder and CEO, Craig Doran shared his knowledge drawn from his experience as an investigator of 22 years.
“I’m honoured to have the opportunity to present at Microsoft’s Government Solution Seminar Series,” said Craig.
“We have been witnessing the inefficiencies of traditional case management systems, which have been causing a significant administrative backlog for a number of years. In this session, I am looking forward to sharing how replacing manual, time-consuming evidence and brief management methodologies dramatically reduce investigation timeframes and streamlines court proceedings,” he added.

- Russell Hunter: Program Coordinator (Animal Welfare, Biosecurity and Product Integrity) at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania.
Garry and Russell shared their experiences using COMtrac, how the software has enhanced their investigative tradecraft and continues to service outcomes to meet their regulatory functions.
“My investigative area conservatively believes a 50% time saving is achievable now that the brief and investigators statements are being developed as the matter progresses,” outlined Garry.
The seminar was facilitated by Microsoft’s Gavin Brown – National Government Industry Executive, and Esmond Ye – Industry Innovation Program Manager.
